The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an essential examination for aspiring medical students in India. It serves as the gateway for admission into various undergraduate medical and dental courses offered by colleges across the country. NEET Exam 2024 evaluates the candidates’ knowledge in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
To excel in the NEET exam 2024, it is crucial to understand the NEET exam pattern 2024 and make strategic preparations. As per the NEET exam pattern, three subjects will be asked in the exam namely, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each subject will account for 50 questions from two sections. Section A will have 35 questions and Section B will have 15 questions as per NEET 2024 exam pattern.
For students looking for graduate and post-graduate medical and dentistry programmes, the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India administers the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). It covers MBBS and BDS courses that both private and public colleges offer. The NEET exam 2024 has a one-tiered scoring system. Candidates aspiring for admission to medical or dental colleges should resort to the NEET exam pattern 2024 for effective preparations. To make it more convenient and cater to students’ diverse backgrounds, the NEET Exam 2024 is also conducted in 13 other regional languages, including English and Hindi.
The NEET Exam has successfully taken over the position of the AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) for medical school admissions. In addition, the Supreme Court has decided that the only criteria for admission to universities across the nation that offer graduate and postgraduate-level medical programmes are NEET marks.
Additionally, NEET has replaced entrance exams administered by JIMPER and AIIMS as the sole exam required for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate medical programmes in the nation.
Aspirants should be familiar with the NEET exam pattern 2024 and NEET syllabus 2024 to effectively prepare for the test. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, or NEET, is an offline test with a 3-hour, 20-minute time limit. 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology must be answered out of a total of 200 questions (Botany and Zoology).

The National Medical Commission (NMC) set forth the NEET-UG syllabus 2024. This course outline will serve as the foundation for the NEET 2024 question paper. Every section/subject in NEET 2024 will have a choice in Section “B,” per the NTA’s decision. As a result, the NEET exam pattern 2024 is divided into two parts. Each subject contains two sections:
Candidates could attempt any 10 of the 15 questions that were included in Section B. As a result, there are still the same amount of questions overall.
An additional 20 minutes were added this time, bringing the total time for NEET-UG 2024 to 200 minutes. Only the first 10 tested questions from section B will be evaluated if a candidate attempts more than 10 questions.
