JEE Advanced is an entrance exam conducted in India for aspirants seeking admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Also known as IIT JEE, it is a computer-based test (CBT) held yearly by one of the seven zonal IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras. For JEE Advanced 2024, candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1998. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should be born on or after October 1, 1993.

Candidates who have cleared their Class 12 examination in 2023 are eligible to appear for the exam. Candidates appearing for the board exam 2024 are also eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam 2024.
JEE Advanced can be attempted a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
A student should have appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who had appeared in the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2021 or earlier are not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2024.
