JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is an entrance exam conducted in India for aspirants seeking admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Also known as IIT JEE, it is a computer-based test (CBT) held yearly by one of the seven zonal IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras. The concerned IIT conducts two papers, i.e. Paper 1 and 2, to test aspirants’ knowledge and skills.

JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Age Criteria

For JEE Advanced 2024, candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1998. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should be born on or after October 1, 1993.

Rank in JEE Advanced 2024

  1. The student should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE Main 2024 (including all categories).
  2. The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 10% for GEN-EWS, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all. A 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates within these five categories.
  3. The following table shows the order to be followed while choosing the top 2,50,000 candidates in various categories based on their performance in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE Main 2024.

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have cleared their Class 12 examination in 2023 are eligible to appear for the exam. Candidates appearing for the board exam 2024 are also eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam 2024.

  • The 75% criteria in class 12th/equivalent exam is applicable to be eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced exam; while for SC/ST, it is 65%.

Number of Attempts

JEE Advanced can be attempted a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

Appearance in Class 12 (or Equivalent) Examination

A student should have appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who had appeared in the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2021 or earlier are not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2024.

  1. The candidates whose class 12 results of the 2022-23 session are declared after June 2023 are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2024, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.
  2. If the class 12 results were declared before June 2023, but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then such a candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2024.

JEE Advanced 2024 Admission Process

The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE Advanced) is a highly competitive entrance exam conducted annually for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other leading engineering and science institutions in India. The admission process for JEE Advanced 2024 involves several steps, including registration, application, exam, result declaration, and counseling.

Step 1: Registration

The registration process for JEE Advanced 2024 will commence on April 21, 2024, and will remain open until April 30, 2024. Candidates can register online on the official JEE Advanced website (jeeadv.ac.in).

Step 2: Application

During the registration process, candidates will need to fill out an online application form. The application form will require personal and academic details, including marks from Class 10 and Class 12 exams, category certificates (if applicable), and PwD certificates (if applicable).

Step 3: Payment of Application Fee

Candidates will need to pay an application fee of ₹3000 for General/OBC candidates and ₹1500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Payment can be made online using net banking, credit card, debit card, or e-challan.

Step 4: Document Upload

Candidates will need to upload scanned copies of the following documents: Class 10 mark sheet, Class 12 mark sheet, JEE Main rank card, Category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), and Passport-size photograph

Step 5: Admit Card Download

The JEE Advanced 2024 Admit Card will be available for download from May 17, 2024, to May 26, 2024, on the official website of JEE Advanced, jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates will need to download and print their admit card for the exam.

Step 6: JEE Advanced Exam

The JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The exam will be conducted in two papers, each of three hours duration: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Step 7: Result Declaration

The JEE Advanced 2024 result will be declared on June 9, 2024, on the official JEE Advanced website. Candidates will be able to access their results by entering their registration number and date of birth.

Step 8: JoSAA Counseling

Candidates who qualify for JEE Advanced 2024 will be eligible for counseling through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). JoSAA is a centralized counseling process for admission to the IITs and other participating institutions.

JEE Advanced 2024 Counselling - JoSAA

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for the joint seat allocation for admissions to 118 institutes for the academic year 2023-24. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 38-Other Technical Institutes Funded Fully or Partially by Central or State Government (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

  1. Eligibility for JoSAA 2024:
    • Candidates must have secured a rank among the top 2.5 lakh candidates in the JEE Main 2024 exam.
    • Candidates must have qualified the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.

AAT 2024

The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2024 is an integral part of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, serving as a gateway for aspiring architects to gain admission into the prestigious Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
